2019 – Autumn

Hi everyone and welcome to the Autumn newsletter!

Firstly, a huge ‘welcome back’ from the summer break – I have been hearing lots from the children about the great summer that you all had!

The children have all settled back in so well it is almost as if they were never away. Those who are at school, including the new starters, have been telling me all about their new teachers and the exciting things they have been doing in class etc.

Since returning after the summer break we have been doing a lot of different craft activities after school, which the children seem to really enjoy. If your child has any particular craft activity that they really like doing please do let me know and, if practical, I will try to incorporate this into our setting.

Some of the older children have been preparing a short play which they are practising – they showed a little of it to some of you recently and they will be continuing to develop the play until they are ready to perform it for us all.

New starters:

Please join me in welcoming two new children to our setting, Adam and Dolly.

Adam is 14 months old – such a cutie – and is settling in well, getting to know us all and enjoying playing with the other children.

Dolly has just started school and is the sister of Lola who has been with us for several years now.

Good luck:

We wish Sonny, Dolly and Emily good luck as they start to settle into their new schools.

Sonny & Dolly have started at Dunmow St Mary’s and will continue to attend our setting before and after school.

Emily has left us now to attend school near her home in Bishops Stortford.

I am sure they will all enjoy making new friends and learning new things at school!

This term’s topic:

The theme for the first half term is ‘Autumn’ and we will be going on autumn walks, collecting leaves and conkers etc. We will then be doing craft activities using our autumnal findings.

After half-term, we will be concentrating on Christmas craft activities for all age groups.

Keep an eye out for the children’s amazing creations coming your way!
